This room, also called the room of the Sundial, recalls the name of a small room of the Apartment of Cardinal Francesco Saverio de Zelada, Secretary of State under Pope Paul VI, who lived in these rooms until 1801, before they were turned into the museum. The room takes its name from the astronomical instruments, among which a sundial, which formed the cardinal's observatory.
