“Divina Bellezza. Alla scoperta dell’arte sacra in Italia” (Divine Beauty. Discovering sacred art in Italy) is the title of the new documentary series in DVD format produced by the Centro Televisivo Vaticano and Officina della Comunicazione, which will be presented in the Vatican Museums on Friday 10 November.
The 10 DVDs constituting the work are intended to present the great works of sacred art, the masters who interpreted it, and the contexts that favoured their production, bringing prestige to the “Bel Paese” for almost two thousand years. Starting from Rome, capital of Christianity, and from the Sistine Chapel, viewers will be guided by the renowned science populariser Alberto Angela on a journey of discovery of the artistic treasures that embellish cities such as Florence, Milan, Ravenna and Naples, casting light also on the remarkable works conserved in the peripheries of our country.
