Thursday 16 March, at 5.30 p.m., the Vatican Museums host in the evocative setting of the New Wing the presentation of the fourth volume in the series Storia della Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana. The publication, which bears the title "La Biblioteca Apostolica e le Arti nel Secolo dei Lumi (1700–1797)" [The Apostolic Library and the Arts in the Century of the Enlightenment (1700-1797)] is edited by Barbara Jatta, and forms part of a series of seven volumes, published every two years, which aims to illustrate the history and institutional role of the Vatican Apostolic Library from the mid fifteenth century to the present.
The meeting is introduced by His Excellency Jean-Louis Bruguès and Msgr. Cesare Pasini, while Professor Antonio Paolucci, former director of the Vatican Museums, will present the book. It will be chaired by Professor Ambrogio M. Piazzoni.
