The Profane Museum from its origins to the time of Pius VI
The history of the Profane Museum, from its origins until the pontificate of Pius VI, and its precious collections, are the theme of a study day organised by the Vatican Museums, which will take place on Monday 16 December. The focus of the meeting, which will involve the participation of authoritative scientific figures, will be eighteenth-century museography, the archaeological material in the collection and its provenance, the copper places and prints of the National Institute for Chalcography, the numismatic cabinet, Valadier's display cabinets and studies relating to various specific sectors of the collections.
