First volume of the series dedicated to the collection of the Pontifical Biblical Institute, available exclusively in Italian, illustrating the section containing Etrusco-Italic and Greek materials.
The classification of the artefacts in this section, fully rendered for the first time, is the result of long and complex historical-archival research, which enabled the identification and a coherent reintegration of the collection.
A detailed historical reconstruction of the Museum of the Pontifical Biblical Institute is followed by the catalogue, which starts from a macro-classification by provenance, and then subdivides the fragments by ceramic type and shape.
The technical data sections, enriched with colour photographs and graphic reconstructions of the exhibits, in addition to providing the basic data on material, condition, shape and measures, describe the structure and characteristics of the decorations and propose typological comparisons, uses and the time frame of production.
The volume ends with a table summarising the classification, and an extensive bibliography.
