Vatican Museums

"Il Museo come Spazio di Formazione" (The Museum as an Educational Space) is the title of the III Training Seminar for Teachers, which takes place 11-12 April 2011 in the Vatican Museums. The two-day seminar is presented by the Director of the Vatican Museums, Professor Antonio Paolucci, together with Maria Maddalena Novelli (USR Lazio - Regional Scholastic Office) and Clara Rech (ANISA - Italian Association of Art History Teachers). Italian and foreign experts in museum didactics and pedagogy in art education participate actively during this seminar, jointly promoted by ANISA and the Vatican Museums. Contributions on the educational functions of the Museums are followed by those focused on the different potentialities of the museum areas. The main goal is to make teachers and didactic guides aware of the synergy between schools and the formal and informal learning areas, through a productive comparison of the instruments and contents of art education.
