The exceptional opening to the public in 2014 of the Pontifical Villas of Castel Gandolfo (situated 24 kilometres from Rome) has enabled the extension of the cultural proposals offered not only to individual visitors but also to families who wish to make the most of the Family reduced Tariff to discover and get to know better the Vatican’s artistic and natural treasures. Every Saturday, a modern and comfortable electric train connects the historic Vatican City railway station with the Pontifical Villas for a Full Day visit that, starting with the wonders of the Vatican Museums and continuing through the rare botanical wonders of the Vatican Gardens, will lead the visitor to discover the luxuriant Barberini Garden of Castel Gandolfo.
The Family Tariff is reserved for families composed of a mother, father and at least two children (aged between 6 and 18 years and/or students up to the age of 25 with valid documentation). The ticket is free for second and subsequent children.
In any case children aged between 0 and 5 years enter free.
