A tour of the Castelli Romani would not be complete without a stop at the picturesque Piazza della Libertà in Castel Gandolfo, where the solemn door of the Apostolic Palace opens up to the public and families who wish to visit the Papal Apartment and the Pontiffs’ Portrait Gallery.
A multilingual audioguide accompanies visitors in a journey in time through paintings, relics, liturgical vestments and uniforms. Pope Pius IX’s sedan chair and the BMW used by Pope Wojtyla for his summer stays in Castel Gandolfo are also on display.
An “invitation to the Palace” – valid not only for the weekend – that you cannot refuse, thanks also the Family Tariff  reserved for families made up of parents and at least two children (between the ages of 6 and 8, and students up to the age of 25 with relevant documentation).
Children between the ages of 0 and 6 enter free of charge!
