Proceedings of the Sistine Conference

Precisely a year after its conclusion, the proceedings of the international conference "The Sistine Chapel twenty years on. New breath new light" are published by Edizioni Musei Vaticani.
The volume, edited by Vittoria Cimino, director of the Vatican Museums Conservator's Office, is a collection of all the technical and scientific contributions to the two days' work. On Thursday 29 October, in the solemn setting of the Sala Regia, the director of the Pope's Museums Professor Antonio Paolucci will present the new publication, which he hopes will make "an entrance into the schools of restoration and university classrooms where Conservation Science is taught". For the occasion, the surveys illustrating the functioning of the air conditioning system in the Sistine Chapel and the data from the most recent tests will be made available to the scientific community.
