More than two centuries of history of the glorious Vatican Gendarmerie Corps narrated in a volume to be published shortly by Edizioni San Paolo, by Sandro Barbagallo and Cesare Catananti.

“La Gendarmeria Vaticana. Dalle origini ai nostri giorni” (The Vatican Gendarmerie. From the origins to our time) is the title of the book dedicated to this élite military corps, the presentation of which will take place on Thursday 19 October in the splendid environs of the New Wing of the Vatican Museums, in the presence of a notable and authoritative panel of speakers.

A history never before written – that of the many gendarmes engaged in the protection of the Supreme Pontiff and vigilance over the territory of Vatican City State – which is now finally unveiled to all thanks to access to and recovery of valuable documents and memories.
