Handy photographic volume, in an Italian-English bilingual edition, dedicated to the relationship between man and dog in the figurative art conserved in the Vatican Museums.

This visual path traces the many representations of the dog among the masterpieces held in the various exhibition spaces. The book is divided according to museum sectors: these include the Gregorian Egyptian Museum, the Hall of Animals, the Gallery of the Statues and the Hall of Busts, the Gregorian Etruscan Museum, the Borgia Apartment, the Gregoriano Profano Museum, the Pinacoteca with representations of the dog since medieval times, the Christian Museum and the Sistine Chapel.

The many images, all full page and in colour, reproduce full views and details of the works, with brief captions.
The book ends with a list of illustrated works, including information on materials, date, location and catalogue number.
