Conference “Raffaello. Un bellissimo ingegno

9 | 10 December 2019
Vatican Museums I Central Institute for Graphics

The collaboration of the Vatican Museums with Anisa, the National Association of Art History Teachers, has been confirmed again this year. On the occasion of their 29th Congress, the Vatican Museums, together with the Central Institute for Graphics, are promoting the study conference Raffaello. "Un bellissimo ingegno" (Raphael. A beautiful talent), dedicated to the figure of the great Urbinate on the year of the fifth centenary of his death.

The two days of study and debate – to be held on 9 and 10 December at the Pope’s Museums and the Central Institute for Graphics, respectively – are intended to propose and develop reflection on the multifaceted genius of the divin maestro, on his relationship with his pupils and with the intellectuals of the papal court.
The conference will be opened by the President of Anisa, Irene Baldriga, and the Director of the Vatican Museums, Barbara Jatta, who in her introductory address will present The Raphaelesque celebrations in the Vatican, the rich programme of cultural and exhibition initiatives with which, for the special anniversary, the artistic legacy of Sanzio will be honoured within the small yet great Vatican State.
