The Vatican Museums Educational Day

Presentation of the “Educational Programme 2024”

25 January 2024
Vatican Museums Conference Hall – in person and live streaming

On Thursday 25 January the Vatican Museums will host teachers and educators to present the programme of educational activities planned for the year 2024.
The Educational Day will introduce teachers to the renewed formative programme, which includes museum tours and workshops designed specifically for educational institutions of all levels, with methods and languages developed according to the characteristics and needs of different age groups and learning levels.

The educational programme ranges from teacher-led tours through the museum collections to specialized guided tours, focusing on six thematic routes, with specially trained Vatican City State teaching staff. This year there are four brand new “itinerant workshops” - aimed at both primary and secondary schools - which are characterized by an innovative approach inspired by multi-sensoriality and learning by doing.
All the proposals, open and accessible also to those with sensory, motor and intellectual disabilities, can be booked online on the official website, and include a visit to the Sistine Chapel at the end of the activities or tour.

Inviting students and their teachers to discover the “Educational Programme 2024” in detail, by browsing, printing and sharing the dedicated brochure, the Director of the Vatican Museums Barbara Jatta confirms her commitment to contribute to "making the Pope's Museums a welcoming and formative environment, with educational programmes designed to strengthen that fundamental bond between the museum, teachers and educational institutions, through the formulation of diversified proposals that support the various needs, for a spiritual, artistic and intellectual enrichment of every single student who comes to visit”.
