450 years after the death of Michelangelo and 20 years following the conclusion of the famous restoration of the Sistine Chapel frescoes in 1994, the Vatican Museums honour this dual anniversary with an international conference entitled The Sistine Chapel twenty years later. New breath new light. The much-anticipated event, which will take place from 30 to 31 October at the Auditorium Conciliazione, Rome, will comprise two days of intense work and study, focusing on the state of health of Michelangelo's frescoes and the provisions adopted for their better conservation and utilisation.
