Vatican Museums

On Tuesday 10 November the Vatican Museums will dedicate an entire day to the study and examination of the recent restoration of Arianna: the acclaimed masterpiece of ancient statuary held in the Gallery of Statues of the Pio Clementino Museum.

It will retrace the conservation history of the Vatican sculpture, along with the modern diagnostic tests it has undergone. The study day will also address the issue of the complexity of the restoration work, which aimed at recovering the original surfaces through innovative methods of intervention, while respecting its historical layers.
