Vatican Museums

An event within an event for the final Thursdays in the Museums of 2015. The afternoon of 17 December will be entirely dedicated to the Sicilian artist Salvatore Fiume who, on the centenary of his birth, will be celebrated by the Vatican Museums with the publication of the volume “Salvatore Fiume e i giochi della memoria”, and with the opening of the exhibition “La memoria del sacro. Salvatore Fiume in Vaticano”. Housed in the spaces of the Vatican Contemporary Art Collection, the exhibition aims to show – with a selection of works donated to the Pope’s Museums by the same artist – the originality with which Fiume confronts religious iconography in his long and rich creative process.
