Castel Gandolfo Museum Complex & astronomical domes for International Women’s Day

Promotional rate on 6, 7 and 8 March

6, 7, 8 March 2026

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Castel Gandolfo Museum Complex and the Vatican Observatory will welcome female visitors with a special promotional admission price of 8.00 Euros.
The offer is open to all women and is valid for the entire weekend on Friday 6 (09.00 a.m. to 02.30 p.m., last admission at 01.00 p.m.), Saturday 7 (09.00 a.m. to 05.30 p.m., last admission at 04.00 p.m.) and Sunday 8 March 2026 (10.00 a.m. to 06.30 p.m., last admission at 05.00 p.m.).

Female visitors, along with their companions, will be able to visit (independently or with a guide and/or audioguide) the solemn interiors of the Papal Palace with its Historical Collections, and the Papal Apartment. In addition, in the Hall of Popes, it will be possible to admire the precious tapestry of the “Conversion of Saint Paul”, usually kept in the Vatican Museums and currently on temporary display at Castel Gandolfo. Based on a preparatory cartoon by Raphael, this refined textile artefact in wool and silver thread belongs to the series of the Acts of the Apostles, the tapestries designed by Raphael, commissioned by Pope Leo X to embellish the Sistine Chapel during solemn ceremonies.

This year too, the promotion is doubled and will also apply to the purchase of a ticket (6.00 Euros) to visit the majestic astronomical domes of the Vatican Observatory on the Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo, home to ancient instruments and historic telescopes that are still in perfect working order.
At the end of the itinerary, visitors can continue their tour in the open air, in the Garden of the Moor and the Secret Garden, and finish by enjoying the enchanting view of Lake Albano from the panoramic terraces.
