Remembering Guido Cornini
35 years in the Vatican Museums (N.T.)
For over 35 years serving the Pope’s Museums, Guido Cornini began his career in the Vatican Museums by directing the Photographic Archive. He later moved to the Renaissance collections, which he passionately studied for many years. In recent years, he held the role of Deputy Artistic-Scientific Director, consistently making his expertise available with diligence and kindness. It is therefore with gratitude that the Vatican Museums decided to dedicate a one-day conference to his memory, and this volume collects the proceedings.
The book includes scientific contributions, such as those dedicated to the restoration of the Hall of Constantine or the Valadier bronze statuettes for the Profane Museum. It also features sometimes private and joyful memories of friendship, common experiences, and encounters that many colleagues from the Vatican Museums shared with Cornini over the years.
