Jubilee 2025: the “Pilgrims of Hope” visits underway
The Vatican Museums are preparing to welcome the many pilgrims coming to Rome for the great Jubilee of 2025, who will want to include a visit to the Pontifical collections and the Sistine Chapel in their journey.
“In welcoming the large influx of visitors, who will be welcomed with increasingly rapid and secure access procedures”, explains the Director Barbara Jatta, “we want to offer a powerfully authentic and spiritual experience along the art-historical itineraries of Art, Faith and Beauty. As Pope Francis urges us, it is a priority to ensure that every one of our guests can find in the masterpieces on display not only an aesthetic suggestion, because clearly this is a museum, but also a profound communion of soul, heart and spirit”.
Taking their cue from the Jubilee motto Peregrinantes in Spem, the Vatican Museums are offering from 20 January 2025, and throughout the entire Holy Year, a new type of guided tour: “Pilgrims of Hope”, to discover the testimonies, symbols and “multiple signs of hope” to be found in the masterpieces of the Pope’s Museums.
A visit and experience open to all, including families with children (recommended age 6 and over).
The guided tours – conducted in Italian, English, Spanish and French – are entirely accessible to those with sensory, motor and learning disabilities (dedicated booking at accessibilita.musei@scv.va).
